Where our activities have an adverse impact on our environment, our stakeholders, the communities in which we work, or our reputation, we work on solutions to mitigate this impact for the benefit of all.
We believe that by promoting land for residential and commercial development we are part of the solution to the national shortage that exists. We regard our business as having a positive impact to this problem. But we recognise that development of any kind can be perceived to have negative impacts on the environment and on the settlements in which new houses are built. We actively seek to find ways to minimise, mitigate or eliminate these impacts.
Social responsibility includes not just the way in which we work and how we look after our people but also how we interact with the wider community and external stakeholders. We strive to get the balance right between what we take out and what we put back which we believe is both socially responsible and makes our business sustainable in the long term.
Good and effective governance is essential to the achievement of these objectives and the reputation of our business. Our board includes non-executive directors who are able to critically examine how we put our stated commitments into practice and we have policies in place to reinforce our legal and moral responsibilities.
Only by striving to maintain the highest standards of integrity will our business continue to grow and our commitment to ESG is an essential part of this.
