Lone Star have submitted a pre-application for 100 dwellings on the site at Boraston Drive, Burford
The site is allocated for residential development under Draft policy BUR004 within the emerging Local Plan. The proposed development is for a residential scheme of ‘around 100 dwellings’. The allocation refers to a ‘broad range of housing uses with potential for self-build, family housing, age specific / special needs housing and affordable provision.’
There have been a number of discussions with Shropshire Council regarding the promotion of the site through the Local Plan Review. Now that the Local Plan examination is delayed, it has been decided to bring forward the submission of this planning application.
The purpose of the pre-application is to demonstrate that the site could accommodate 100 dwellings successfully and include the range of dwelling types, tenures and sizes prescribed by the allocation. It communicates the design process that has been undertaken, and in particular the constraints and opportunities associated with it that have been identified. A significant amount of technical work has been undertaken in relation to the site and that underpins the design concept. An illustrate layout based on this shows how the site could be developed and demonstrates that it is suitable for a residential scheme which could be delivered within the plan period.
